Sydney Jazz Trio has a 10 year history of playing together and a unique camaraderie and respect that exists between the band members. This talented trio create new levels of enthusiasm and creativity that exceeds audience expectations.

The trio consists of the most experienced and diverse improvising musicians in Australia and they combine their love of standards by such greats as Cole Porter, Gershwin, Jerome Kern and Duke Ellington, with their passion for bebop and beyond, the fire of Charlie Parker, and the freedom of Charles Mingus.

The Sydney Jazz Trio creates a unique “Chamber Jazz” style, characterised by sinuous mobile lines, the driving energy bass lines, the warm lyricism of bass clarinet and the omission of drums.

The trio combine their love of the jazz tradition and hard swinging with a freedom of interaction which is both creative and liberating.
